There are associations that claim to represent all people interested in playing cards of a certain country or even over the country border. What then is the reason for "Alta Carta"? There are substantial differences that give "Alta Carta" the right of existence.

On one hand these clubs represent all interested parties in playing cards. "Alta Carta" just seeks contact to collectors. On the other hand in these organisations culture and research is the most essential part of the activities and what concerns the enlargement of ones personal collection is practically ignored. The only thing that is done in this direction is the trade evening that takes place at the annual assembly. But there is never enough time and definitely not enough space for dealing to take place. At the smaller clubs the supply is so little that for the pure collector there is no use in taking place at all.
