Box: Still in original plasic case. Sony specifically chose an audio cassette jewel case for this promotional release as a clever, self-referential design gimmick.
Description: The four Aces have some writing in the suit symbol: Technology (Spade), Digital (Heart), Reliability (Diamond) and Service (Club). All other 48 cards show some Sony electronic equipment. One extra card has contact information, the other one is more or less a blank card, just with the writing "Sony Broadcast".
Beschreibung: Die vier Asse tragen Beschriftungen im jeweiligen Farbzeichen: "Technology" (Pik), Digital (Herz), "Reliability" (Karo) und Service (Treff). Alle anderen 48 Karten zeigen Elektronikgeräte von Sony. Auf einer der Zusatz-Karten befinden sich Kontaktinformationen, die andere ist mehr oder weniger eine leere Karte, auf der lediglich "Sony Broadcast" steht. Für diese Werbe-Veröffentlichung wurde eine Plastik-Box gewählt, die ganz bewusst an die Audio-Kassettenhüllen erinnert; ein cleverer, auf sich selbst bezogener Design-Gag. Diese originale Plastik-Hülle ist dabei.

Description: This is a promotional deck of playing cards for the "Lederer" beer brewery, where the court cards feature the company's crocodile mascot, which is also their trademark. It is the first edition (original) of the deck, produced around 1990 under the traditional three-card logo of Heinrich Schwarz & Co., but without a written manufacturer name. This textless variant reflects the brief transition phase during the company's corporate acquisition by F.X. Schmid, leaving the brand name in limbo while keeping the established logo design.
Beschreibung: Bayerisches Kartenbild. Dies ist ein Werbekartenspiel der Bier-Brauerei "Lederer". Die Bildkarten zeigen das Krokodil-Maskottchen der Firma, das gleichzeitig deren Markenzeichen ist. Es handelt sich um die Erstausgabe (Originalausgabe) des Kartenspiels, die um 1990 unter dem traditionellen Drei-Karten-Logo von Heinrich Schwarz & Co. hergestellt wurde, jedoch ohne Angabe des Herstellers. Diese textlose Variante spiegelt die kurze Übergangsphase während der Firmenübernahme durch F.X. Schmid wider, in der der Markenname weggelassen wurde, während man das etablierte Logo beibehalten hat. Der Herz-König ist leicht vergilbt.

This is the second edition (reprint) of the deck, produced around 1996, showing the old "Berliner" logo in a new look - now featuring an all-red square and printed entirely in red, surrounded by the circular inscription "Nürnberger-Spielkarten-Verlag".

All the cards portray late 16th century court officials, soldiers or citizens from contemporary prints, cuts and paintings. The individual cards numbered from 1 to 10 are marked with Roman numbers, to be overtrumped by queens, kings and capital cityscapes of the four nations, respectively, while priests are seen for aces.
